BACK TO OUR ROOTS

This collection is inspired by the journey of the company's founders, John and Stella Reynolds, who moved here from South Africa in 1984. As our first collection of in-house designed headwear prints, we channeled their South African heritage by relaying the culture, traditions, landscapes and history in our designs. Our three new prints are based on traditional textile designs: medallions, dots, and stripes. Each has been re-interpreted to evoke our South African roots.

The Shweshwe textile, ubiquitous in South Africa, is a block print to created with intricate geometric patterns, which are traditionally inspired by environmental surroundings. Desert Shweshwe pulls from the monochromatic dessert landscape with its camel and light pink accents. Oasis Shweshwe, whose color pallet is a mirror of the blue water, speckled with the bright lively colors of the vegetation and the animals and birds which flock to it as their life source

Dark Sky shows love for the countryside night skies, which are always more clear, seemingly tangible. These pink and white hand drawn dots are a fun play on classic black and white polka dot, adding whimsy and depth. City Lights reflects the luminous hustle and bustle of the city depicted by the colorful hand drawn dots set on a background of concrete gray.

Fauna Paths is a dimensional stripe created from African design elements, linear and geometric. The color palette brings together colors of animals roaming wild in the South African panorama. Flora Paths links the deep green with camel stripes to symbolize an array of plant life, from sowing seeds, to vibrant greens of Baobab trees, to wandering tumbleweeds.
